We're transforming how businesses win public sector work, moving tendering from a chaotic, weekend-ruining admin nightmare into a disciplined, predictable revenue channel. You have a captive audience with an identified need. We're building the infrastructure to make that moment count. The Role We're hiring our first marketing person— a founding generalist who can write, ship, and own the entire content engine. This isn't a “support the marketing team” role. You are the marketing team. You'll work directly with our Head of Sales (Freddie) and Founder (Laurie) in our Toowong office. Note: While you will own the execution, you won't be on an island. You will have constant strategic guidance from the founder to help you prioritize and learn the ropes. What you'll own in your first 90 days Content Engine: Build a repeatable system for blog posts, LinkedIn ghostwriting (for our founder and sales team), case studies, and email campaigns. Website Refresh: Help us refine our messaging and rewrite key pages to position Tendl as “the CRM for tendering,” not just another AI writing tool. Sales Enablement: Create one‑pagers, battlecards, and templates that help our sales team close deals faster. Your Typical Week 60% Writing: Blog posts, LinkedIn content, customer stories, web copy, email campaigns. 20% Sales support: Creating collateral, refining messaging based on prospect feedback. 10% Strategy: Messaging workshops, audience research, competitive analysis. 10% Execution: Social media scheduling, light design work, analytics. What We Are Looking For Must‑Haves You’re a strong writer: This is non‑negotiable. You can take complex ideas (like “tendering as sales”) and make them clear, punchy, and persuasive. You’re scrappy: You don’t wait for perfect briefs. You see a gap (like “our LinkedIn is dead”) and you fill it. Curiosity: You’re genuinely interested in what makes businesses win work. You’ll ask “why” until you understand the customer’s pain. Non‑Traditional Backgrounds Welcome Are you a lawyer realizing you hate billable hours? A journalist tired of the churn? A bid writer who wants to do more than just copy‑paste? If you know how to construct an argument and write clearly, we can teach you the marketing tools. We hire for smarts, writing ability, and hunger first. Bonus Points (Nice‑to‑Haves) An interest in tech/SaaS (you don’t need to be an expert, just tech‑literate and excited about software). Experience with design tools (Figma, Canva). Comfort working closely with sales teams. Growth, Impact & Compensation Compensation & Equity $70K‑$90K AUD (depending on experience). Equity: You’re joining early. We want you to own a piece of the upside you help create. Why This Role Matters Direct access to leadership: You’ll be in the room for strategy discussions and product roadmap decisions. Learning by Osmosis: We are in the office 4 days a week for a reason. You’ll sit next to the devs, listen to live sales calls, and work directly with the CEO. You can’t learn how to build a $20M company over Zoom. You’ll learn more here in 12 months than in 3 years at a remote agency. Path to leadership: As we scale, you’ll have the opportunity to build and lead the marketing team.
