Key Focus Areas Strategic Corporate Leadership and Organisational Performance – Provide executive leadership across the Corporate Directorate, setting strategic direction, driving business improvement, and strengthening organisational systems and performance to deliver sustainable, high-quality outcomes for the community. Governance, Risk, Assurance and Compliance – Lead robust governance, audit, risk and integrated planning frameworks that ensure transparency, accountability and compliance with legislative, ethical and probity requirements. Financial Sustainability and Resource Stewardship – Oversee strategic financial management, long-term planning, procurement governance and value-for-money initiatives to support responsible investment and Council’s long-term financial sustainability. People, Safety, Culture and Workforce Capability – Shape a high-performing, inclusive and safe organisational culture through effective people leadership, workforce development, health and safety oversight, and employee experience initiatives. Digital, Technology and Data Transformation – Drive digital strategy, cyber resilience, systems innovation and data-informed decision making to enable efficient, modern and connected service delivery across the organisation. Communications, Engagement, Emergency Management and Reputation – Oversee external communications, media, marketing, customer experience, community engagement and emergency management, strengthening public trust, organisational reputation and community resilience. What You’ll Bring Proven executive leadership in complex, highly regulated or political environments, ideally within local government or the broader public sector. Demonstrated expertise across governance, financial management, people leadership, organisational performance and corporate service delivery. High-level political acumen and deep experience working with elected representatives and government partners. Demonstrated success in organisational reform, digital transformation, business improvement and strategic workforce capability development. Relevant tertiary qualifications (postgraduate and GAICD highly regarded) and 10+ years senior executive leadership experience. Why join us?
