Psychiatrist (Specialist General Adult )

Mi-Mind Centre is seeking an Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in Toowoomba. This role offers comprehensive clinical exposure across inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings. You’ll deliver evidence-based psychiatric care, contribute to clinical leadership, teaching, and quality initiatives. Formulate treatment plans and provide evidence-based psychiatric care. Admit and manage inpatients under admitting rights at St Andrew’s Private Hospital. Deliver outpatient, telehealth, and community-based psychiatric services. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the Xestro EMR system. Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and national mental health standards. Multidisciplinary Team Participation Work collaboratively with a diverse MDT including psychiatrists, GPs, psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers and allied health. Engage with external partners including NGOs, DVA, WorkCover and NDIS support coordinators. Attend and contribute to clinical case reviews, family meetings and joint care conferences. Promote recovery-oriented and culturally appropriate clinical practice. Supervision, Education & Training Participate in structured supervision with SCP-accredited supervisor and co-supervisor. Contribute to registrar supervision, medical student teaching and team education sessions at St Andrew’s Hospital. Participate in peer review meetings and ongoing CPD activities. Service Governance & Development Undertake clinical audits, incident reviews and service evaluation activities. Contribute to strategic planning and development of Mi-Mind Centre programs. Participate in risk management and quality improvement activities. After-Hours Responsibilities Participate in the shared after-hours on-call roster for St Andrew’s Private Hospital. Professional Requirements Attend performance reviews and complete reporting requirements. Travel to outreach clinics or affiliated sites if required.
