Landscape Gardener

If you’re a hands‑on leader who takes pride in delivering outstanding results, mentoring others, and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces — this role is for you We’re seeking a Landscape Gardener – Team Leader who can balance on‑site leadership with strong customer service and operational delivery. You’ll lead by example, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional service, and well‑presented gardens across multiple client sites. What You’ll Do & Who You Are Hands‑on Horticulture & Gardening – Planting, pruning, mulching, fertilising, mowing, edging, and lawn maintenance. Develop detailed plans and drawings, source required materials and plants, and manage all landscaping activities. Oversee construction of gravel and paved areas as well as walls, fences, and garden furniture. Arrange seedbeds and planting areas, carry out planting of trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs, and provide ongoing maintenance for established vegetation. Prepare lawn surfaces, plant grass, and install instant turf as part of ongoing lawn maintenance. Assess the hydraulic requirements of irrigation systems, and carry out testing, maintenance, and repairs as required. Team Leadership & Coaching – Delegate tasks, mentor your team, and maintain high standards. Pest & Disease Control – Identify and treat plant health issues (chemical certification a plus). Machinery Operation – Operate and train others on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems. Landscape Maintenance – Care for garden beds, trees, pathways and hardscapes. Site Travel & Cleanup – Travel between client sites in a company vehicle (take‑home option available*). Skills and Experience Certificate III plus 2 years of on‑the‑job training or Certificate IV plus one year of relevant work experience, or at least three years of relevant work experience. 3+ years of hands‑on horticulture or landscaping experience (qualification a plus). Proven experience leading or supervising horticulture, gardening, or landscaping teams (multi‑site experience ideal). Strong coaching and mentoring skills – able to motivate and guide your team to deliver great results. Sound knowledge of plant care, machinery use, and chemical handling (preferred but not essential). Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather. Current Australian driver’s licence (secure parking required if vehicle is taken home*). Reliable, proactive, and passionate about maintaining high‑quality outdoor spaces.
