Job Summary Job No: GRC1538 , Employment Status: Full Time , No. of Vacancies: 1 A varied role where the successful applicant will diagnose, service, fuel and maintain council’s diesel plant and machinery in the field and workshop as required, maintain records and ensure compliance. Responsibilities Post trade experience in servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of plant, earthmoving and road transport equipment. Demonstrated fault‑finding and diagnostic skills in a workshop and field environment, including use of machine management software. Proven experience in the maintenance and fault diagnostics of hydraulic systems. Ability to diagnose automotive electrical systems. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team while coaching and mentoring apprentices. Maintain records and use computer systems for effective recording of maintenance and repair. Operating a HR class truck and auxiliary equipment; safe operation of fuel delivery vehicle. Operating pumps and hoses to load and discharge fuel at distribution points. Plan delivery routes, ensure timely deliveries and adhere to council policies and industry regulations. Ensure safe work methods, practices and conditions while operating plant and machinery. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Fleet and Logistics Section. Other duties as delegated within the level of responsibility. Order parts and plan communication with stakeholders. Maintain oils and consumables inventories on field service vehicle. Qualifications AUR31116 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent. Queensland Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licence – Class HR or above, current and maintained. Queensland General Construction Induction (White/Blue card). Queensland High Risk Work Licence – FL (Forklift truck) current and maintained.
