Temporary Vacancies (Recruitment Pool) Team Member - Level 3 Remuneration: Hourly rate of $35.53 per hour, plus 25% casual loading & up to 14% Super. A recruitment pool is a great opportunity to be considered for a number of temporary roles within Council throughout a 6‑month period by submitting only one application. Being placed in a recruitment pool does not mean that you have been offered employment; nor is it a guarantee that employment will be offered. The hiring manager with an available opportunity will contact you directly via your supplied email address or phone number to discuss their role and seek your interest. They will also discuss a possible interview and/or further assessment if required. The Recruitment Pool is valid for a period of 6 months. At the end of 6 months, your placement in the recruitment pool will expire. You can withdraw from the Recruitment Pool at any time by emailing ***********@gympie.qld.gov.au. You will receive confirmation of your exit from the Recruitment Pool once this has occurred. Job Description Council is establishing a Recruitment Pool to fill temporary labouring positions that arise due to short‑term staff absences. These roles are diverse and may be based in Gympie or Kilkivan within our Construction or Maintenance teams. Successful applicants will work as part of a multi‑disciplined team undertaking a variety of tasks to maintain and/or construct Council’s infrastructure assets in line with recognised standards. Please be aware these positions are on a casual temporary basis. Closing Date Sunday, 15 March 2026 at 11:00pm AEST. Role Overview This position supports Council's direction by undertaking a range of labouring, plant operation and truck driving tasks as part of a multi‑disciplined team that is responsible for the maintenance of Council's infrastructure assets in accordance with recognised standards. Essential Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated ability to undertake a broad range of tasks including operation of plant, vehicles, equipment and tools in a competent and proficient manner. Demonstrated physical agility and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending. Demonstrated ability to maintain harmony within a team and foster good working relationships with all council employees and members of the public. Demonstrated ability to work under general supervision. Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained. Construction Industry White/Blue card. Essential Requirements Operate and maintain light plant and equipment in a competent and efficient manner to deliver council’s work programme. Perform labouring tasks in a safe, competent, efficient and timely manner to deliver council’s work programme to quality standards. Identify new ways to improve work practices in accordance with council's continuous improvement commitment. Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Knowledge of Civil construction and Maintenance activities. Concrete and formwork experience. TMR Traffic Management Implementation qualification. Queensland ‘MR’ licence or above that is current and maintained. Licences in operation of plant and equipment.
