Environmental Health Officer Location: Oran Park, South West SydneyContract Type: 4-month contractPay Rate: Competitive pay rates About the Role ACM is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Health Officer for a fantastic opportunity to work with a local government division. This is a great chance to get your foot in the door and make a real impact in the community. Key Responsibilities: Conduct food premises inspections using the FPAR Provide excellent customer service to retail food proprietors Issue correspondence including FPAR reports, educational materials, Improvement Notices, and regulatory reports as required Perform inspections of beauty salons and skin penetration premises Investigate and resolve assigned complaints Attend pollution incidents and provide pollution control advice Implement and conduct environmental monitoring and reporting programs Liaise with councils, state government bodies, and community groups Represent Council in legal proceedings when required Promote environmental health initiatives within the community Undertake inspections and regulate various premises, including: Food premises Temporary food stalls Mobile food vendors Skin penetration and hairdressing services Public swimming pools Mortuaries On-site sewage management systems Desirable Skills: Strong customer service skills with the ability to negotiate and educate key stakeholders Capacity to adopt an educational approach with escalation to regulation as required Willingness to assist the broader EHO team as needed Benefits: Free onsite parking Opportunity to gain valuable local government experience Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science, applied science or similar degree, with previous experience in an environmental health role Current C Class Driver's Licence Availability for on-call duties outside normal office hours Ability to conduct inspections outside office hours Willing to complete: Police check Pre-employment medical Interested?
