Based in Ararat, AME Systems is a leading Australian, privately owned designer and manufacturer of quality electrical wiring harnesses and assemblies. We specialise in customised electrical solutions for heavy transport, aerospace, rail, military, medical and special purpose vehicles and machinery, offering full service and support from design to delivery, and after‑market sales. We are seeking a highly motivated, friendly, professional and welcoming individual to take up a full‑time role of Receptionist. The Receptionist provides the friendly, professional and welcoming ‘face’ of AME Systems, greeting external and internal customers and visitors alike. As the first point of contact for many, the Receptionist always typifies AME Systems’ qualities and acts in a manner that promotes a positive, efficient, knowledgeable and service‑orientated business. Responsibilities Maintaining a clean, orderly and professional reception area. Greeting visitors and answering phone calls to AME Systems promptly in a friendly, professional and polite manner. Ensuring all visitors and contractors to AME Systems are correctly and efficiently signed in, provided with name tags and clean safety glasses as required. Assisting staff with internal phone calls and requests. Handling all activities associated with incoming and outgoing mail and faxes. Sending, forwarding and following up on email enquiries. Assisting the Sales Department with administration tasks and data entry as required. Assisting the Manufacturing Team with some administrative duties. Providing administration support to the Executive Management as required. Organising, ordering, receiving and distributing staff uniforms. Key Selection Criteria INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Ability to convey thoughts effectively to others regarding reception, customer issues and administration. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Flexibility, adaptability and analytical skills. High level of initiative and drive to develop one’s business skills. Understanding of confidentiality when talking to or working with customers, suppliers and AME Systems staff. Friendly, polite and professional manner when interacting with visitors, on the phone or sending emails. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Ability to question the status quo and provide practical and sound advice and knowledge in continuous improvement and technical solutions. Proficient use of email, fax, Outlook, phone, photocopier and other office equipment. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Positive attitude and a warm, friendly approach. A high degree of integrity and confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic IT skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. Well organised, punctual and well groomed. Ability to contribute to a team in a professional and positive manner. Proactive, self‑sufficient and able to act autonomously. High attention to detail. Current driver’s licence. Why Join Us?
