Helpdesk Support Officer (Level 1) Brisbane CBD 24 Months contract $39.75 + Super Join a major Queensland Government department delivering essential ICT support services to its internal client base. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive Service Centre team, providing first-level assistance across a broad range of hardware, software, and business systems. As a Helpdesk Support Officer (Level 1), you’ll act as the first point of contact for departmental staff seeking technical assistance. You’ll log and triage incidents, resolve common issues, and elevate complex matters in line with established processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, learning new systems, and providing quality customer service in a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities Receive, log, and manage ICT support requests following agreed procedures. Diagnose and resolve first‑level issues across software, hardware, and in‑house applications. Escalate unresolved incidents appropriately and follow up to ensure timely closure. Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting resolutions and known issues. Provide clear and professional communication to users and stakeholders. Assist in Service Centre improvement projects and the ongoing review of procedures. Manage workload effectively to deliver responsive and high‑quality service outcomes. What We’re Looking For Foundational IT knowledge across Microsoft platforms, Active Directory, and standard desktop environments. Strong customer service focus and clear communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced service environment. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve common ICT issues. Willingness to learn new systems and contribute to team improvement initiatives. Desirable Experience Exposure to government or large enterprise environments. Familiarity with ITIL or SFIA‑aligned service management practices. Experience in incident logging tools and remote support platforms. Must be Brisbane based Ready to apply?
