Climate and Sustainability Specialist

Pollination is looking for a Climate and Sustainability Specialist to join our busy Advisory team in Australia on a 6‑month contract basis (with the potential to extend), based in either Sydney or Melbourne. In this role, you will advise corporates, financial institutions and governments on climate strategy, technical research, financing solutions and transition to a net‑zero economy. You will bring your own deep climate change expertise and networks — whether in transition or physical risk, clean energy, corporate climate strategy, investment, advocacy, governance, policy, market design, or other closely related fields — to help our clients address some of the most pressing and challenging problems in the world. The desired candidate will have 8+ years in strategy, economics, finance or a closely related field; Experience in climate and sustainability consulting, financing or investment; Experience in project management and research delivery; Strong familiarity with domestic and international climate issues and dynamics; Experience delivering leading sustainability and/or climate strategy in either in‑house or a professional service capacity; Client focus and delivery orientation; Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills; Experience managing multiple projects or client engagements concurrently; Experience leading delivery teams and managing junior staff in a collaborative and inclusive culture; Relevant industry networks; Drive to find strategic solutions that help our clients deliver net zero and build climate resilience. The successful candidate is likely to have an advanced university qualification in economics, finance, business, science, technology, engineering, mathematics or a closely related field, and significant relevant experience in in‑house strategy, management consulting or finance. This position is offered initially on a fixed‑term contract basis and there may be the potential for a longer term or a permanent position in the future.
