Description The Statewide Hospital Pharmacy North West (North West Hospitals Pharmacy Department) team is comprised of rotational pharmacists, technicians, specialist pharmacists and leadership roles providing high level of pharmacy services to the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe. Our pharmacists collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centred, medicine-related care. The Team The North West Hospitals Pharmacy Department is an accredited Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) Resident Training Program Site. The program supports pharmacists to develop clinical, operational and self-development skills in a supportive environment. It is suitable for early career pharmacists and for those more experienced pharmacists new to hospital pharmacy practice. Location North West Tasmania offers a unique blend of rural and coastal lifestyle with clean air, mountains, beaches, and forests. Residents can enjoy short commutes, outdoor activities, and local markets, creating an attractive place to live and work. The Role Provide a comprehensive set of Clinical Pharmacy Services including best possible medication history taking, medication management and action plans in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team, and patient education across every stage of inpatient care. Training is available on‑the‑job. Dispense medications for inpatient, outpatient and discharge supply in accordance with all legal requirements and within the parameters of various medication access schemes. Offer verbal and written medicines information and other supporting health advice to patients. Provide medication information to hospital staff and contribute to their knowledge of medication‑related issues. Details Of Appointment Permanent, full‑time and part‑time shift worker positions are available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Salary Salary ranges from $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. An employer superannuation contribution of 12 % is added on top of this amount. Salary Packaging Salary package includes living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment of $2,650 each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible. Allowances Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum. Market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata. Pre‑registration (intern) pharmacists eligible for provisional registration. Tertiary qualification or program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia, or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
