Responsible for implementing streamlined build and release processes for RegStar 26 applications, ensuring high reliability, repeatability, and compliance with Transport’s engineering and cyber standards. Key Responsibilities Build, enhance, and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines supporting automated build, unit testing, code quality checks, artefact packaging, and environment deployments. Implement branching strategies (GitFlow/Trunk‑based) and enforce repository standards, pull‑request policies, tagging conventions, and versioning practices. Configure build agents, service connections, variable groups, secure secrets handling (Key Vault), and pipeline templates for reusable automation. Integrate automated security scanning (SAST, SCA), quality gates (SonarQube), and compliance checks into CI workflows. Manage artefact storage, retention policies, and environment promotion workflows using release gates, approvals, and deployment sequencing. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure pipeline readiness, environment availability, and smooth Dev→Test→Pre‑Prod→Prod promotion. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, optimise pipeline performance, and introduce caching, parallelisation, and modular templates to improve efficiency. Implement deployment automation for containers, WebApps, Functions, APIs, and microservices using ARM/Bicep/Terraform where necessary. Provide guidance on DevOps best practices, pipeline governance, observability, and infrastructure‑as‑code integration. Skills & Experience Proven experience building Azure DevOps multi‑stage YAML pipelines for enterprise applications. Strong knowledge of Git, branching models, and code release management. Experience integrating testing frameworks, code quality tools, and security scanners. Good understanding of Azure services (App Service, AKS, Storage, Key Vault, AAD, networking). Familiarity with container technologies (Docker), artefact management (Feeds), and monitoring/alerting practices. Ability to work in fast‑paced, multi‑team environments and drive DevOps maturity.
