Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Coordinator Student Matters) Location : Broome Employment type : Part-time (0.5). Fixed-term contract ending 31 / 12 / 2026 with possibility of extension. About the role Reporting to the National Head of Student Matters in the National School of Medicine, you will be the primary liaison between KCRMT medical students and the School of Medicine to achieve optimal financial, social, and cultural outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide pastoral care and oversee student support, addressing factors impacting academic progress; triage and refer to internal and external support services as appropriate. Facilitate effective liaison between students and the School, including relationships with student associations, and facilitate student access to Student Services, academic and other support services. Advise the National Head of Student Matters on student issues, including transfers, applications for extended leave, and other matters related to welfare, progress or fitness to practice; manage breaches of the Code of Conduct and disciplinary matters and maintain secure confidential records. Liaise with educational academics regarding student welfare matters. Provide backup and support with Student Matters Coordinators across campuses and the National Head. Participate in national selection processes and relevant School committees. Provide teaching within the program. Support and contribute to research and scholarship focussed on pastoral care, student experience, and selection. Assist in developing and engaging the School's alumni network. Participate in information events, orientation, enrolment and other student-related events and functions. Qualifications, skills & experience Level B (Lecturer) A Level B Academic Employee is expected to make significant contributions to teaching and maintain scholarly, research and / or professional activities relevant to the discipline. This level typically requires a doctoral or master's qualification or equivalent accreditation. Possession of a Medical, Clinical Psychology or other health discipline degree. Proven ability to manage complex personal and professional issues and provide high-quality pastoral care. Experience teaching at master's level or higher, or in a medical / health or professional practice-based education setting (desirable). Highly effective communication and negotiating skills. High-level organisation and management skills. Proficiency with technology and learning and teaching programs. Level C (Senior Lecturer) A Level C Academic Employee is expected to make significant contributions to teaching, scholarship, research, and professional activities, typically requiring a doctoral qualification and a record of demonstrable achievement. Possession of a Medical, Clinical Psychology or other health discipline degree. Demonstrated track record in managing complex personal and professional issues and providing high-quality pastoral care. Experience teaching at master's level or higher, or in a medical / health or professional practice-based education setting (desirable). Advanced communication and negotiating skills.
