Patient Financial Services Officer

About the role We have an exciting permanent full‑time opportunity to join our national Radiation Oncology support team. Working closely with the Radiation Oncology Patient Financial Services Manager and the Radiation Oncology Billing Manager, the Radiation Oncology Patient Financial Services Officer is responsible for the processing of patient direct debit payment processes (including IconPay, SCR and Trials) within Radiation Oncology, including review and finalisation of IconPay accounts, actioning adjustments as required and assisting sites with financial enquiries. Key responsibilities Process payments and manage financial deductions for IconPay, SCR and trials, support national sites, handle inquiries, assist with debt collection and account reconciliation. Oversee patient IconPay invoicing, payments and adjustments, handle refunds, write‑offs and Accounts Receivable tasks, support banking reconciliation, debt management and provide regular debtor reporting. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, deliver excellent customer service, demonstrate empathy, uphold patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, provide support and feedback, manage priorities and maintain a proactive and organised approach to work. About you Proficient in MS Office and adaptable to specialist software. Strong relationship‑building, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent time management, organisational and problem‑solving abilities. Relevant experience in a similar role or health insurance industry knowledge. Strong customer focus and commitment to professional development. Upholds a safe environment for patients and staff. Professional work ethic, presentation and alignment with Icon Group values. Committed to quality improvement and customer service excellence. Self‑motivated, able to prioritise, work under pressure and take initiative. Adheres to legal and ethical standards. Desirable Accounts experience in a medical environment. Intermediate working knowledge in Microsoft Excel. Sound working knowledge of CareRight, ARIA and Health Director.
