Walk The Dragon Pty Ltd Software Engineer Full-Time position (38 hours per week) Sydney, NSW We’re building something bold, meaningful, and beautifully engineered and we’re looking for a Software Engineer who can think beyond code. Responsibilities Consult with users to determine their requirements in relation to operational feasibility by evaluating problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Research, design, write, modify software, software applications and systems using various software development methodologies. Test and improve software applications and systems through the testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting of errors and faults within established protocols and guidelines. Undertake the development, testing, installation and modification of operating systems, utilities and other software and also integrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together. Manage the software development lifecycle and monitor system performance. Write technical specifications, control scheduling of jobs or user access, and create operational documentation with technical authors. Qualifications and Experience Relevant bachelor’s degree qualification or higher. 5 years previous experience or more in a similar role in lieu of formal qualification. Skills Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript Data Visualization: Recharts Backend: NestJS Database: MySQL / PostgreSQL Hosting: Vercel (frontend) and AWS (backend) Realtime & Notifications: Firebase CMS / Content Integration: WordPress CI/CD & DevOps: GitHub Actions, AWS Pipelines, or similar tools for automated testing and deployment Performance Goals Complete tasks on time Deal with clients, stakeholders and other employees professionally at all times Work independently and make necessary decisions throughout the systems process within established guidelines. The position will report to the CEO and will be full time, with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
