From our founder’s first recruits on a NYC subway to a global panel of 3 million participants across 150+ countries, we now support research for companies like Microsoft, Dropbox, and P&G. Our panel is one of the most diverse and responsive in the industry. As the research world shifts rapidly, demand for high-quality participants is growing fast. Respondent is well-positioned to meet that demand, helping companies run better, faster research at scale. We’re a lean global team of ~30 people across Sydney, Manila, and the U.S. We’ve recently become profitable and we are ramping up to accelerate growth. We have already made the leap from 0 to 1 - this is a rare chance to help us take it from 1 to 10 The Role You’ll be joining our Sydney team as a Full Stack Engineer. This is an in-office role where you’ll be a core part of a lean, fast-moving engineering team - so we’re looking for someone who’s genuinely excited about collaborating in person. Most of your work will focus on front‑end initiatives that shape how users experience Respondent - you’ll take real ownership of projects that move the product experience forward, while also gaining exposure to our back‑end systems. This role is perfect for an engineer who’s passionate about building great user experiences, moving fast, and seeing their work make a real impact. What You'll Do Product Engineering: Work with Product, Design and other Engineers to build and improve software that delivers real value to our customers. Build our new front‑end: Design and develop core parts of our new React front‑end, and contribute to both technical and product decisions that shape how users experience Respondent. Raise the quality bar: Implement and maintain end‑to‑end front‑end tests using Playwright to ensure a smooth, reliable experience for our users. Work at the edge of AI: We’re actively using AI in our dev workflows and our product and you’ll help us push that even further. Software Process Optimisation: Continuously improve our development processes and tools to help the team move faster and ship high‑quality code across the stack. What you’ll bring Full stack expertise: You’re comfortable working across both front‑end and back‑end. Our stack includes TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS and MongoDB - but we care more about your ability to learn and ship than a perfect tech match. You care about building products that customers love, not just writing code. Adaptability: You are comfortable in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment, and can figure things out when the path isn’t fully defined.
