Associate Head of Campus - Learning & Pedagogy - Deception Bay Flexible School Edmund Rice Education Australia – Deception Bay QLD Associate Head of Campus - Learning & Pedagogy Contract: Continuing, Full-time Location: Deception Bay Flexible School Start: 12 January 2026 Salary: Assistant Principal Level 1-3 About the Organisation Edmund Rice Education Australia Flexible Schools Ltd (EREAFSL) currently educates over 2,400 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co‑create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. About the Role This position exists to provide leadership support across Deception Bay Flexible School. It is a broad‑scope leadership role that supports the Head of Campus for Deception Bay Campus and manages day‑to‑day operations. The role works closely with the Head of Campus and the Area Principal. Key Responsibilities Tertiary qualifications in Teaching with eligibility for teacher registration with Queensland College of Teachers. Open Driver’s licence and willingness to drive school buses. Demonstrated commitment to the values of Edmund Rice Education Australia, building just communities based on Touchstones of Inclusive Community, Gospel Spirituality, Justice and Solidarity, and Liberating Education. Demonstrated leadership in developing and maintaining programs for young people at risk, with substantial knowledge of educational leadership and compliance with regulatory bodies. Experience in trauma‑transformative practice and wellbeing support that helps young people build learner identity, achieve positive social outcomes, and re‑engage in education. Ability to develop and implement a range of learning choices and assessments meeting diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of young people at risk.
