Who are Anglicare looking for? They are calling out for Volunteers who will support positive ageing approaches within AnglicareSAs Community Aged Care program. You will be assisting customers living in their own homes with a range of meaningful activities which engage and respect individual choice. Multiple Volunteer positions available across metropolitan Adelaide. Roles include: Social Programs support - assist workers by engaging with customers while enjoying arts and crafts, games, cooking activities and social outings. Phone Support - provide a friendly voice over the phone touching base and checking in with customers who may be feeling isolated and lonely. In Home Social Connections - be matched with customers in the community to engage with one‑on‑one visits in their home. Hospital and Respite Visiting - provide customers with much needed support and comfort while in hospital or when they are taking a break in respite. Administration - provide administration and program support to Anglicare teams in an office‑based setting. What can you expect to be doing? Supporting customers with a range of social engagement activities, directly or indirectly to remain independent in the community. Supporting a dedicated team of professionals in the ongoing support of older members of the community to continue to be active, independent and engaged in the community. What do you need to bring? Ability to work effectively within a team environment in accordance with AnglicareSAs values Ability to work with empathy, compassion and in a non‑judgemental and respectful manner Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio‑economic backgrounds The ability to report to line manager any areas of concern regarding the customers you are working with Communicate effectively, both written and verbally to customers and staff Willingness to provide assistance in a customer centred model, adhere to the Aged Care Quality Standards and organisation policy and procedures.
