Base pay range A$60.00/hr - A$70.00/hr About the client Our client is a leading global IT services provider, delivering innovative technology solutions and consulting services to major enterprises across various industries. This role supports a prominent financial institution known for its strong digital transformation agenda, customer‑centric approach, and commitment to operational excellence. About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in automation, programming, and quality engineering. This role involves hands‑on development using Java, Python, and TypeScript to build robust automation frameworks and software solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in API, Kafka, MQ, and file‑based protocols, along with proficiency in UNIX commands and system integration testing. Key Responsibilities Hands‑on programming experience 8+ years in Java/Python/TypeScript, building automation frameworks. Hands‑on experience handling API, Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP and file‑based protocols; should be able to work with UNIX commands. Software development and deployment: Design, develop and deploy high‑quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage without supervision. Programming/Software development: Design and build programs or application features; create automation frameworks and automated tests that meet business objectives. Quality engineering: Experience in system integration testing, UI/Backend (API/Kafka/MQ) automation with frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright or DevTest. Experience with RDBMS (Oracle) and using SQL or other data integration/ETL tools. Experience with source control systems (GitHub) and CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions. Experience with effort estimation. Required Experience Strong understanding and application of software delivery lifecycle principles. Proficiency with analysing business objectives and translating requirements into technical implementation components. Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices.
