Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia | Salary: A$90,000.00 – A$120,000.00 Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Engineering and Information Technology Key Accountabilities Ensure maximum uptime of all critical business platforms. Minimise the chances of security breaches. Continuously optimise infrastructure for better performance and reduced operational hosting costs. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure to support business operations. Develop self‑service solutions, including templates and tooling, to empower developers and streamline workflows. Identify, investigate, and resolve security vulnerabilities and compliance issues in cloud infrastructure. Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Embed Infrastructure as Code best practices into existing environments to enhance consistency and scalability. Implement and advocate for DevOps practices to drive collaboration and continuous delivery. Provide a secure, high‑performance hosting platform for SaaS products, ensuring compliance and reliability. Analyse and resolve technical, application, and production incidents to minimise downtime and disruptions. Stay informed on emerging technology trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement and modernization. Key Requirements Strong analytical skills plus excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. Proactive initiative, accountability, and ability to prioritise competing requirements. Ability to work flexible hours and meet deadlines under pressure. AWS best practices knowledge and the twelve‑factor app methodology. Thorough networking and security knowledge. Exposure to system performance and capacity planning, platform upgrades, root cause analysis and application change management processes. Exposure to problem analysis in complex IT systems and ISO27001. Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer/DevOps Engineer/System Administrator. Ideal Candidate Experience Experience in Amazon Web Services (VPC, EC2, RDS, ECS, SES, SQS, SNS). Experience managing Windows Server environments, including IIS administration and Windows domain configuration. Knowledge of CI/CD best practices, with experience in GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Buildkite, and software deployment tools such as Octopus Deploy. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or similar. Proficiency in a programming or scripting language such as Python, PowerShell or Bash. Database administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL. Ability to adapt to rapid, iterative change and operate in a small lean stream‑aligned team. Familiarity with observability tools and ability to create dashboards with SLAs/SLOs. Benefits A day off for your birthday. Additional 4 days of leave each year.
