The Reef Hotel Casino is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Marketing to lead our Marketing Department. This senior leadership role offers the chance to combine strategic vision with hands-on delivery across marketing, entertainment, and public relations - all with the goal of driving visitation, guest engagement, and business growth. About the role Reporting directly to the Casino General Manager (and engaging with the Hotel General Manager in a dotted-line capacity), the Head of Marketing is responsible for setting the direction of all marketing, entertainment, and PR activities that support the key profit drivers of the Complex: gaming, food and beverage, events, and tourism. This role balances high-level strategy with operational involvement. You’ll oversee campaign planning and execution, entertainment programming, brand development, sponsorships, PR, digital engagement, and stakeholder relationships. You’ll also manage budgets, contracts, and supplier partnerships to ensure strong ROI across all marketing activities. The position leads a multi-skilled team, fostering collaboration across departments, commercial tenants, and community and tourism partners. Key responsibilities Develop and deliver marketing, entertainment, and PR strategies that support visitation, engagement, and revenue growth. Lead brand positioning, creative direction, advertising standards, and digital transformation across all channels. Oversee the delivery of campaigns, promotions, and entertainment events that strengthen customer loyalty and attract new audiences. Manage departmental budgets with financial discipline, ensuring maximum impact and ROI. Build and maintain strong relationships with media, sponsors, partners, and the local community. Guide the use of market research, data insights, and analytics to inform decisions and measure performance. Provide effective leadership to a high-performing marketing team, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Ensure all marketing activities comply with Queensland regulations, responsible gambling standards, and corporate governance requirements. About you We are looking for a commercially minded leader who can combine creativity with analytical thinking. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can set strategy, lead a team, and roll up your sleeves to make sure plans are executed flawlessly. You’ll bring: Senior marketing leadership experience, ideally within hospitality, gaming, tourism, or entertainment. Strong background in digital marketing, brand development, and campaign management. Proven ability to manage budgets, suppliers, and multi-channel campaigns. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative leadership style with a focus on results and team development. Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
