Exciting Anaesthetist Opportunity Awaits in Mount Isa This is your opportunity to contribute to our vision of creating pathways to better health for our North West communities. About The Role We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) to join our highly motivated team based at the Mount Isa Hospital to provide anaesthetic services within the North West Hospital and Health Service. This is an opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest to you within anaesthesia (including obstetrics and regional), ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing and support continued improvement of health services by participating in quality improvement opportunities. Benefits A permanent role is on offer with job security and flexible hours/roster arrangements negotiable (FIFO available). Pro rata remuneration package (based on f/t equivalent value) from $525,850 up to $650,288 p.a. Base salary rates between $210,332 and $266,677 p.a. (based on f/t equivalent value) (L18-L27). Accommodation and tax savings through salary packaging options. Attraction and Retention incentive allowance 50% base p.a. salary. Regional and Rural attraction allowance 15% base p.a. salary. Inaccessibility allowance of $34,500 p.a. Motor Vehicle Allowance. 5 weeks p.a. Annual Leave with 17.5% loading. 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Professional Development Allowance. Eligible Mount Isa Residents may also be able to access discounts starting from 20% off Qantas return fares from Mount Isa to their eligible city. Discounted fares for residents | Qantas AU Requirements Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. Current registration with/or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia. Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthesia for obstetrics is required. Scope of Practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years or younger) is desirable. An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients. An interest or experience in regional anaesthesia and acute and/or chronic pain management. C Class Motor Vehicle Licence. Pre‑employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate. This is a VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis. 6 months probation may apply.
