About the Role As a Cook at RSL LifeCare, you will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and wholesome meals for residents. Responsibilities: Assisting in meal preparation and service to ensure high-quality food is provided. Preparing meals in accordance with dietary requirements, including modified diets and special meal requests. Ensuring food safety compliance (HACCP) and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards. Supporting kitchen operations, including ordering supplies and food storage management. Working collaboratively with the food services team to provide a positive dining experience. Qualifications Previous experience in bulk cooking, preferably in aged care or hospitality. Qualifications in Commercial Cookery. A passion for food and creating nutritious meals that enhance residents' well‑being. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure the best possible resident experience and teamwork. Knowledge and experience with Food Safety Standards and HACCP compliance. The ability to work efficiently and as part of a team in a busy environment. Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing quality service. Working Rights NDIS Worker Screening Clearance – mandatory. It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
