SES-1 Director, Student Pathways About the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division The Director, Student Pathways is part of the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division in the Department of Education and Training. The Division is responsible for leading, and embedding, a generational reform agenda response to the Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling. These reforms will collectively support all Victorian secondary students to experience a high-quality careers and pathways journey across secondary school, aligned to their strengths and interests and to finish schooling with the skills and capabilities they need for success in further education, training, work, and life. The Division reports to the Deputy Secretary, Strategy and Secondary School Reform and engages regularly with the Minister for Education and critical education, training, industry and community stakeholders. High performing candidates are sought to lead across a range of functions, including policy, design, strategy and implementation, technology solution development, data and analytics and strategic engagement and change. About the Role The Director supports the senior secondary reform agenda by leading one of the four branches with a focus on : Design and delivery of high-quality careers education across the secondary student pathway, integrated into whole school approaches to careers and pathways Strategic leadership of a complex program of technology design and development, supporting digitisation and alignment of critical processes across the Division Stewardship of data linkage, to better understand relationships and outcomes across secondary schooling and beyond The purpose of the role is to : Lead the development and delivery of the branch's programs and policy projects, as well as provide analysis and advice on school education system architecture, performance and student engagement Lead the implementation and delivery of statewide government programs, including accountability for budgets, performance targets and evaluations Provide high quality, strategic advice to senior management, Executive Board and Ministers on reforms to support the reform agenda Engage collaboratively across the Department, to identify strategic opportunities and linkages to support the delivery of coherent system-wide reforms Build and maintain effective relationships within the Department, with other government agencies and external stakeholders to support the achievement of government and departmental objectives Contribute to the Taskforce's overall strategic direction aligned to the department's priorities and provide leadership on key initiatives and projects How to Apply Interested applicants are invited to submit their CV and a brief cover letter outlining their skills and experience against the requirements of the role detailed in the attached Position Description.
