We are seeking an experienced practitioner who thrives in advocacy, values strategic thinking, and is committed to achieving outstanding results for clients. This position is particularly suited to a candidate based in New Zealand who is ready to take the next step in their career and relocate to Australia. About the Role The successful candidate will independently manage a diverse caseload of private Family Law matters, with no legal aid work, focusing primarily on property and financial settlements, as well as parenting disputes and related litigation. The position requires a high degree of independence, professionalism, and sound judgment, with the support of an experienced team and strong administrative framework. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse range of Family Law files from commencement to resolution. Provide considered and strategic legal advice to clients. Draft and review court documents and correspondence. Represent clients at mediation, conferences, and court proceedings. Contribute to the ongoing development and reputation of the Family Law sector of our firm. About You The ideal candidate will possess excellent advocacy and negotiation skills, sound technical knowledge of Family Law, and a genuine passion for representing clients in complex and challenging matters. Qualifications Minimum 5 years PQE in Family Law. Strong background in litigation and court advocacy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage files independently with a high degree of professionalism. Commitment to client care, integrity, and excellence in practice. Eligibility for, or ability to obtain, an Australian practicing certificate. Sound understanding of Australian Family Law or a readiness to undertake training to build capability in this area.
