Behaviour Support Practitioners play an integral role in the success of our services and the achievement of our mission and organisational objectives. Behaviour Support Practitioners recognise the right of people with disabilities to inclusion, participation, and self-determination. We also work closely with services and support partners, providing training and capacity development opportunities. This is a full time role for a person with a clear view to skill building . You would ideally be at the start or middle of your career and be interested in working in areas of complexity and trauma. You would enjoy learning and embedding a skill set over a period of time to work towards proficiency as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. The role involves providing support and guidance to individuals with behavioral issues, implementing behavior management strategies, conducting assessments, and developing individualized behavior support plans. Qualifications Degree in social work, social science, psychology, OT, education, nursing or equivalent First nations applicants strongly encouraged to apply with alternate pathways available. Driver's license, relevant police checks, and disability clearance required. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Demonstrated ability to utilise data collection tools, collate information, analyse, and prepare reports for relevant stake holders; Willingness to work as part of a team and to cultivate a strength-based approach Well-developed communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills An ability to use electronic case management and reporting tools and experience using Word and Excel An ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team Excellent documentation and record keeping skills Current driver’s license and a willingness to drive Working with Children Check and Police Check clearance Ability to travel and work independently and away from home.
