Facility Operations Center Engineer, Facility Operations Center (FOC) Join to apply for the Facility Operations Center Engineer, Facility Operations Center (FOC) role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Job Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Facility Operations Center Engineer supports data centers worldwide, ensuring continuous access to the innovation our customers rely on. You will be part of a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists and operations managers, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety, security and capacity at the lowest possible cost. This role demands a strong understanding of both data center IT infrastructure and facilities infrastructure, and the ability to grow operational excellence within the team. Key Responsibilities Monitors Amazon’s global data center facilities and infrastructure platform. Serves as a point of contact for internal and external teams. Develops communication and escalation protocols to improve team performance. Contributes to outage post‑mortem analysis. Ensures records are updated in a timely manner. Co‑ordinates and communicates during emergency recovery efforts. Develops tools that enhance team performance. Supports a 24×7 environment, rotating day shifts and weekend/holiday work. Basic Qualifications Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). 2+ years supporting production or mission critical environments, including ticketing, monitoring/metrics and troubleshooting technical issues. University degree or TAFE technical degree/diploma. Preferred Qualifications Experience in data center engineering or operations. University degree or TAFE technical degree/diploma in Engineering or Computer Science. 2+ years experience working in an operations or control/operations center environment.
