Advanced Practice Provider - Urgent Care - Elizabeth City Join to apply for the Advanced Practice Provider - Urgent Care - Elizabeth City role at Sentara Health . Overview The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) provides health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups under Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Services include health assessments, prescribing/treatment, occupational medicine regulatory exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care center. Care is provided under the direction and supervision of the assigned physician(s) (collaborative agreement). The PA is expected to participate in quality assurance/improvement activities, team activities, and to use resources appropriately. Location Elizabeth City, NC Work Schedule First (Days) shift; requires flexibility to include weekends, evenings, holidays and 12-hour shifts. Ability to move between regional Urgent Care locations at the direction of administration. Must be able to work independently with appropriate supervision and maintain strong situational awareness to ensure quality and customer service. Maintains continuing education credits as prescribed by licensing body and SMG; maintains prescriptive authority; acquires required clinical competencies; participates in quality assurance/utilization management activities; and assists with risk management functions. NRCME not required at offer but expected to be completed within 30 days of employment. Prescription Authority - VA staff only. Provider Specialty Urgent Care Responsibilities Provide health care services in an Urgent Care setting under physician supervision. Perform health assessments, order and interpret tests, prescribe/treat diseases and injuries, and perform procedures as needed. Engage in quality assurance/improvement activities and team-based care. Move between regional locations as required and maintain high standards of patient care and safety. Education, Certification, and Licensure Masters Level Degree (Required) NP or PA professional designation NP/PA State License (Required) DEA (Required) DOT – Department of Transportation (Required) BLS (Required) ACLS (Required) Experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a practicing provider in an urgent, immediate, or emergency care setting.
