Job Summary Position: Social Worker Level 1/2 (Dependent on Qualifications and Experience) – Full Time Permanent, 38 hours per week located in Broken Hill, NSW. Remuneration: A$76,364 - A$108,943 p/a plus Superannuation. What you'll be doing Provide early intervention family focused recovery assessments, counselling and care coordination services for women and families accessing inpatient and outpatient Maternity and Child & Family Services. Provide hospital inpatient support where required and capacity permits. The District values an inclusive and diverse workforce of over 800 clinicians and support staff across nine health facilities, including Broken Hill. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Comprehensive knowledge of psychosocial issues arising for consumers and their families with chronic or acute illness. Experience or willingness to learn to conduct psychosocial assessments, group work and crisis management within person‑centred and brief intervention models. High-level communication, advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging legislation and policies related to child safe standards, child protection, NCAT applications and NDIS applications. Ability to design, plan, implement, participate, lead, and evaluate group work programmes. Effective time management, prioritisation, and escalation skills. Valid unrestricted Class C Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel for work with overnight stays.
