School Photographer

NQ School Photography is part of a National business that has been providing top quality School Photography products to families all around Australia for over 35 years. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and are dedicated to putting a smile on every child’s face. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated people person to join our Cairns branch. This position is a customer-facing, field-based role, primarily working within schools and with staff and students to capture imagery for use in School Photography products. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, organised, friendly “people person” who enjoys early starts and working with children. This role requires the ability to work with both individuals and groups of 50+ students or staff. Key Competencies: Outstanding verbal communication skills Friendly, easy-going demeanour, especially with children Critical eye for detail Fast learner Independent, proactive worker Ability to work under pressure, with strong time management Ability to work effectively as part of a team Punctual and well presented Physical fitness – the position involves lifting and carrying, often up stairs Basic computer skills Photography experience is not required as all training is provided. This is a field-based position – we work within the Cairns area with some occasional overnight/weekly travel to Townsville and Cooktown. Early starts are a must. The position offers work on a casual basis 4 to 5 days per week during school terms only, tapering off in the 2nd half of the year. Candidates will need to be available Monday to Friday with some weekend travel, on a changing roster, during and around school hours. Successful candidates must have a current driver’s license, a reliable car and hold a valid Blue Card or be willing to obtain one on commencement of the role.
