About the opportunity The Clinical Liaison Nurse is a Permanent Part Time position Monday and Tuesdays, providing expert nursing consultation and liaison for midwives, nurses and other health care professionals in relation to patients with mental illness or behavioural concerns. Responsibilities Work closely with the Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) Service. Support managers to coordinate psychiatric nursing interventions and behavioural management for patients with complex needs. Provide education for midwives and nurses in the management of patients, within the established PMH guidelines for care. Be part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers. What you'll bring You'll be resilient, compassionate, and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care. Qualifications & Experience Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife / Nurse. Completion of a specialist Undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing program or a Post Graduate Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing qualification. Extensive experience and practice in a range of acute service settings. Previous experience in a Mother Baby Unit is desirable. High level of ability to work effectively and collaboratively with patients experiencing psychiatric disorders. High level of crisis assessment and advice for caring for women with behavioural or mental health problems. Ability to provide education for Nurses and Midwives in care management of women with mental health and psychosocial issues affecting their health. Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
