Senior Lecturer Dentistry and Oral Health - T&R Job No. : Work type : Continuing Full time Continuing Bendigo Campus Level C Salary $139,792 - $160,575 plus 17% superannuation About the position The La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) is the largest rural health school in Australia. It operates across four regional campuses : Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton and Albury-Wodonga. The School offers a wide range of health courses including dentistry, oral health, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, public health, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology, exercise physiology, exercise science, labour economics and occupational therapy. The LRHS aims to make Rural Health and Wellbeing matter locally, nationally and internationally through graduates and research outcomes that make a difference. The dentistry and oral health discipline delivers undergraduate courses in Dental Science and Oral Health Science. It has moved to a purpose‑built rural dental and oral health clinical teaching school on the Bendigo Health campus. We are seeking an individual who is committed to providing high‑quality teaching and an excellent student experience in preparation for the next generation of dental practitioners. Your role will involve curriculum development, teaching, research and engaging with the community to improve regional and rural access to care. We expect an academic at Level C to develop curriculum, teach or undertake research and other scholarly work relevant to Dentistry and Oral Health, and to contribute significantly to the discipline at the national level. Skills and Experience Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation recognised by the University or profession. Demonstrated effectiveness in curriculum development and teaching with a commitment to excellence. Strong record of research publication, evidence of quality and impact. Demonstrated achievement as a leading practitioner, reputation for skills, knowledge and expertise at a state or national level. Experience liaising with external organisations, agencies or the public. Skills in the preparation for Higher Education teaching, evidenced by a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or an equivalent such as FHEA. Full registration as a general dentist or specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
