Assistant Project Manager Rickmansworth What you will be doing: Looking to take your first step into project management? This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at Southern Water, part of Galliford Try. As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support experienced project managers and gain hands‑on exposure to delivering projects from start to finish. This role is designed for someone eager to learn, develop their skills, and build a career in project management. Project Planning & Execution - Assisting with the development of project plans, timelines and resource allocation. Task Management - Helping to organize and delegate tasks, track progress and ensure deliverables are met. Communication & Coordination - Maintaining communication with team members, stakeholders, and vendors, facilitating meetings and distributing information. Administrative Support - Managing project documentation, preparing reports, document control and scheduling meetings. Data Analysis & Reporting - Collecting and analysing project data to track progress, identify potential issues and provide regular updates to the project manager. Risk Management - Assisting in identifying potential risks and helping to develop mitigation strategies. Budget Management - Supporting the project manager in monitoring project expenses and ensuring adherence to the allocated budget. Quality Assurance - Helping to ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards. Problem Solving - Addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle and collaborating with the project manager to find solutions. Experience and Qualifications: Strong organizational and time management skills: Essential for managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Necessary for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Problem‑solving and analytical skills: Required for identifying and resolving issues that arise during the project. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team: APMs need to be able to manage their workload effectively while also collaborating with others. Attention to detail and accuracy: Required for managing project documentation and ensuring data integrity.
