Senior Legal Counsel, Insurance

We have a new opportunity for a senior lawyer with significant professional indemnity experience to join a growing national insurance company that has an incorporated legal practice. The successful candidate will enjoy a flexible working environment with no billables, spreadsheets or BD and the benefit of working alongside top-tier lawyers in a high-performance environment.This role reports directly to the Director, Legal and will be advising across a range of industries including engineering, property, real estate, IT, accounting, and professional services.Core ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice to a wide range of industries, including but not limited to, the construction, real estate and property sector through to IT professionals, architects and professional servicesBe responsible for and have carriage of your own files, with support and appropriate supervision from the national team and DirectorsUndertake a small amount of public liability claims work (approx. 10% of the role)The Successful CandidateLaw degree with strong academicsValues-led legal professional with 5-8 years’ post qualification experienceKnowledge of insurance law with significant professional indemnity experience from a reputable law firmBackground in defendant insurance litigation ideally with professional indemnity experience though other areas will be considered and training providedCommercially astute with a genuine interest in building a successful career in professional indemnityStrong client relationship skills and understands the importance of providing technically excellent adviceSelf motivated and enjoys working on matters from end to endTeam player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and mentoring of more junior lawyersTo apply please email your resume to Sandra Crawford at ***************@jlegal.com.au and for a confidential discussion please call 0412 367 ***.JLegal Australia is a Specialist Legal Recruitment & Executive Search Firm.
