Performance Development Lead - Sports Rehabilitation and Medical Join to apply for the Performance Development Lead – Sports Rehabilitation and Medical role at Brisbane Grammar School . About the Role Part‑time, parental leave contract until January 2027 The primary purpose of this role is to engage positively as a coach in the delivery of the Athletic Performance Development Programme and to lead injury prevention, rehabilitation and medical support services across Year 7‑12, covering all sports. Responsibilities Provide coaching assistance and support to the BGS APD Team in delivering programmes and facilitating training sessions (at the request of the Head of Performance Development). Regularly liaise with line managers and heads of programme to ensure the objective of developing a multi‑sport athlete is achieved. Design and implement strength‑based programmes within the BGS Long‑Term Physical Development model. Collaborate with colleagues to improve programming and delivery across multiple physical domains. Lead flagship sport strength and conditioning services as allocated by the Head of APD. Provide strength and conditioning services to the BGS swim squad and related stakeholders. Provide match‑day support to flagship and championship teams, as required. Provide support and services to flagship holiday camps. Prepare necessary documentation and reporting for all diagnosed injuries of BGS athletes (Year 9‑12) using the AMS. Onboard external stakeholders, including medical staff and allied health professionals, for weekly triage processes. Coordinate rehabilitation support and communicate with allied health services throughout recovery stages. Lead professional development sessions on sport‑specific injury prevention. Communicate weekly with sport directors, HPE, year heads and key stakeholders regarding student status or availability. Arrange involvement of allied health professionals, including triage, treatment and tender processes. Participate in designing parent information evening presentations. Design, implement and oversee prescribed rehabilitation sessions where required. Develop basic rehabilitation programmes for common injuries in liaison with Head of APD and school medical professionals. Attend Monday AM triage sessions and related reporting. Embed rehabilitation sessions within the weekly gym timetable. Communicate and follow up on individualised student rehab plans. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Exercise or Sport Science. Current Blue Card. Proven expertise in developing and implementing athlete rehabilitation programmes across multiple injury modalities. Strong communication skills with medical professionals across all disciplines. Experience in designing and delivering field‑based strength and conditioning sessions for multi‑sport athletes. Experience tracking, documenting and monitoring injury and return‑to‑play scenarios. Excellent communication skills with parents, students and colleagues.
