Your Opportunity The Sustaining Young Tenancies Program in Townsville provides mobile support and case management for young people between the age of 16-25 years who are experiencing or at the risk of homelessness and support them into stable and secure accommodation. This role will also provide support to our Townsville Youth Foyer on as needed basis. Your key responsibilities will be to : Provide personalised and targeted support to our clients Conduct initial assessment meetings to people entering the program from referral services Provide a range of support plans suitable to help achieve a young persons goals Support with rental process including accompanying them to inspections and supporting application process Develop and support training and educational pathways to employment and actively link young people with education and training opportunities provided by external agencies Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to effective functioning of the service and improved outcomes Requirements for Success An appropriate community service certification or alternatively previous experience in working in the sector Experience working in homelessness sector or youth preferable Strong communication empathy and advocacy skills Have a sound understanding of Mission Australias values and code of conduct Well-developed written and oral communication skills including highly developed administrative skills Current valid QLD drivers license Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children / vulnerable people.
