The team works with a range of communities — from the Seafood Capital of Australia, primary producers, to seaside holiday towns — to tell their stories on radio, online, social media, and TV. You’ll live and work in a city with world‑class culinary offerings, a short walk or drive from some of the most beautiful beaches. ABC South Australia is looking for an enthusiastic reporter to create compelling news content across all platforms. Reporting to the Editor, news reporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities to local and national audiences. The ways to tell these stories are ever‑evolving; you could do a live cross into TV with overlay you filmed yourself, an online story on Australia’s most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package, a short radio news bulletin presented live, or a long‑form YouTube video. The size of the team means you have support to pursue stories you’re passionate about, and ample opportunity to step up and take a lead on breaking stories. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate, concise and clear stories for radio, television, online and social media for local, state and national audiences. Present radio news bulletins, participate in Q&A, conduct interviews and create radio packages. Break news stories and create compelling original content. About You Do you have an endless curiosity about people and places? Do you have a passion for telling stories? This could be the perfect job for you. The right person will have good editorial skills, experience with breaking news, and the ability to generate original stories in a daily news environment. Additional Competencies Well‑developed cross‑platform production skills in radio, digital, video, and social media. A solid understanding of editorial policies and sound news judgement. Confident broadcast presentation skills including live presentation. Demonstrated understanding of stories and issues in the Port Lincoln region.
