Cardiac Scientist Senior (Echosonographer) Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service – Rockhampton QLD The Cardiac Investigations Unit offers a range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, and ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring. Expansion to Cardiac Services will see a Cardiac Catheterisation Lab (CCL) commence in 2026 with Cardiac Physiologist led haemodynamic monitoring. About the role The Cardiac Scientist Senior (Echocardiographer) delivers high level Cardiac diagnostic testing to inpatients and outpatients of the Rockhampton Hospital within CQHHS. This position requires a high level of independence and represents Cardiac Investigations Unit on relevant committees or portfolio(s). The Cardiac Scientist Senior (Echocardiographer) acts as a resource person by leading quality improvement, research, and service development of clinical areas consistent with CQHHS and Queensland Health State-wide initiatives and strategic directions. About you The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree in science/applied science (or equivalent qualification) with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology. Relevant additional or evidence of considerable professional development in areas of cardiac diagnostic services (i.e. Echocardiography, Cardiac Catheter Lab, Pacing, Electrophysiology). Where Echocardiography is the applicant's sub-specialty, the successful applicant must provide evidence of the completion or current enrolment in the QUT Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac). Where Echocardiography is the applicant's sub-specialty, registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR). Registration or membership with appropriate registration authorities or associations (i.e. Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists).
