At the forefront of the digital revolution, the company continues to break new ground in visual effects, VR, AR, and Immersive Cinema. Your role? The Talent Manager creates a positive and supportive environment for the artist and production teams at ILM Sydney by building meaningful relationships with the teams they manage, as well as the show leadership teams. You will work closely with project leadership to schedule and manage crew with an overarching focus on the long‑term growth of artists through performance feedback and career development, so our artists continue to grow and develop. What will you be doing? Create a collaborative and supportive environment for artists to excel, with an open-door policy to encourage positive communication. Work closely with show leadership to ensure projects have the right teams assigned, taking into account project needs and career development. Assess capacity and utilisation challenges across artist and production teams and proactively problem-solve issues. Evaluate individual artist strengths and promote cross-utilisation of teams to improve workflow. Collaborate with supervisors, production, training and other talent managers to develop training plans for upcoming show needs and ongoing talent development. Provide constructive feedback to help artists grow and meet their long‑term career goals. Manage yearly merit increases for your team. Work with talent coordinators to manage time‑off requests and other ad‑hoc administration duties. Identify recruitment requirements and partner with recruiters to hire diverse talent. Collaborate with ILM studios worldwide to maximise crew utilisation. Skills and qualifications you will bring Passion for management and creating an environment conducive to team excellence. Ability to give positive and constructive feedback and hold difficult conversations. Strong scheduling, problem-solving skills and solid VFX knowledge. Hands‑on attitude, ready to take on diverse responsibilities. Strong communication, encouraging team members to share challenges and successes. Leading by example and maintaining high flexibility. Instinct for building teams, spotting talent, and passion for diversity and collaboration. Bachelor's degree in arts, communications, psychology, business or related field, and experience in a creative collaborative environment.
