Our network firm, Abacus is hiring Office: Springfield, MO, Fayetteville, AR and Branson, MO Type: Full Time Position: Staff Accountant Compensation: Starts at $60K annually Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, the Staff Accountant position is accountable for tax, audit, or accounting functions of smaller engagements; with increased client contact, more complex technical challenges, and beginning supervisory responsibilities for the work of lower-level professional staff. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s in accounting and CPA preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Well organized with good time management and multi-tasking skills. Works well in a team environment and ability to maintain positive relationships with work teams and customers/clients. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Preferred experience using Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, UltraTax and Advance Flow. Ability to work and think independently. Must be able to develop working knowledge of in-house software packages. Pass a CJIS background check. Essential Functions: Develop a deeper knowledge of primarily audit with some involvement in accounting services and tax possible. Prepares all types of accounting products for assigned clients ensuring that all financial data are recorded consistent with established policies and procedures, including compilations, projections, reviews, etc. Planning, budgeting, time control, working with client personnel, client relations, and possibly supervising staff interns on projects. Possibly prepare business and personal tax returns as well as tax planning projects. Identify tax issues and solutions. Deliver and consult with clients on tax projects. Consults with the manager or partner(s) on problems offering recommendations concerning solutions. Develops efficiencies and looks for value-added opportunities for clients.
