Senior Software Engineer (Java, Spring, Azure) - 12 Month Contract 2 days in Parramatta Office One of Australia’s leading enterprise insurers is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional squad modernising their core applications. This is a long-term contract (12 months initially) working on high-impact cloud-native projects with cutting-edge tools, including GenAI frameworks. What You'll Be Doing: Lead software development from design to deployment in a collaborative squad environment Modernise Java-based applications with a focus on security, scalability and cloud-readiness Use GenAI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, LangChain) to enhance productivity and quality Contribute to DevSecOps best practices and drive innovation across the team You'll Bring: 5+ years' Java experience with strong knowledge of Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Java 17+ Proficiency in REST API design (OpenAPI), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and Azure cloud Experience modernising legacy Java apps and building cloud-native solutions Familiarity with GenAI tooling, automated testing, and secure coding standards (OWASP, Fortify, etc.) Strong communication and design documentation skills (e.g. architecture diagrams) Nice to Haves: Experience with tools like IntelliJ, Maven, JIRA, Confluence, Git Relational DB experience (MySQL or MariaDB) #J-18808-Ljbffr
