About the Role This role is largely to support the delivery of Hollard’s reserving process each month, as well as reporting and communication of results for all portfolios across Australia and New Zealand. Your duties and responsibilities Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end valuation process, including initial review of actuarial assumptions and valuation results. Assist with relevant statutory, APRA & other disclosures in relation to the valuation, including the Actuarial Valuation Report, Financial Condition Report and Board papers. Support internal and external communication in relation to the actuarial valuation results, e.g. to Finance and various business areas, as well as partners/brokers. Support of AASB17 reporting and associated work. Facilitate positive/proactive interactions with stakeholders across the business. Perform actuarial analysis and support the wider actuarial function. About You Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with suitable industry and subject-related experience. Experience in reserving (2 years minimum), or in an actuarial consultancy firm. Strong capability with spreadsheets, databases, statistical analysis programs and programming languages, in particular proficiency in SAS, SQL, VBA and Excel. Experience delegating tasks and reviewing the technical work of others. Successful management of workload with an ability to manage internal and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and articulate concepts, methodologies and results to a variety of audiences (actuarial and non-actuarial). Engaged and independent work ethic; combined with a business-minded, pragmatic and result-orientated can-do attitude.
