Join to apply for the Senior Basketball Coach - Boys (casual) role at Moriah College . Moriah College is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Coach to lead our boys basketball program. This key coaching position is within our Sports Department and is suited to a highly skilled coach who thrives in a professional, high-performance environment and is passionate about youth development. The Boys Senior Coach will oversee the development, preparation, and performance of our top senior basketball teams. The role requires a commitment to excellence, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to mentor emerging coaches within the program. Key Responsibilities Deliver elite-level coaching across all boys' squads, applying advanced technical, tactical, and performance methodologies. Plan and run high-quality weekly training sessions, ensuring structured athlete development aligned with the College's performance standards. Coach at major tournaments, representative events, and key school sporting fixtures throughout the year. Lead and facilitate school holiday training camps, ensuring safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programs. Mentor, guide, and support junior coaches, fostering a consistent and positive coaching culture across the College's basketball program. Work collaboratively with the Head of Sport and the Head of Boys Sport (Sports Manager) to support long-term pathway growth and competitive success. Essential Requirements Proven experience coaching basketball at a high-performance, representative, or elite school level. Strong technical and tactical knowledge of the modern game. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in competitive tournaments and pressure environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for developing young athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include some Sundays and school holiday periods. A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one. Desirable Prior experience within school-based sports programs. Experience managing and mentoring developing or junior coaches. Relevant coaching accreditations or sport‑science qualifications.
