EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER – FULL TIME (12 month maternity leave position) Woodrising Natural Learning Centre – Woodrising NSW Woodrising Natural Learning Centre requires a passionate, motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a twelve month contract. We are a 39 place, community based long day care centre in Lake Macquarie catering for children aged 2-6 years. We have a very strong philosophy that advocates for children’s right to learn through play. Our centre has a large, natural playground - complete with a boat, trickle stream, mud pit, ducks, gardens and much more We are passionate about providing an inquiry-based program for children in an aesthetically pleasing environment. We are inspired by various theories and approaches, including Steiner/Waldorf, European Forest Schools and the educational approach in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The successful applicant will be required to work a 40hr week and will receive a monthly Rostered Day Off. This is a programming position. The position will commence on Monday 5th January 2026 and conclude on 18th December 2026. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA A strong passion and commitment to high-quality early childhood education Bachelor of Early Childhood Education/Teaching Experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care settings Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and Early Years Learning Framework Understanding of various Early Childhood theories and approaches A commitment to our service philosophy Experience implementing an emergent, interest based program A passion for nature pedagogy and a commitment to implementing our bush school program (we are happy to provide training) Ability to build relationships with children, families and staff A team player who can integrate seamlessly with colleagues Commitment to on‑going professional development Understanding of Child Protection Responsibilities PLEASE NOTE- We are a child safe organisation. You will be required to provide a recent police check and commit to our statement of child safety.
