Early Childhood Educator – Sandhills Early Childhood Centre, Byron Bay Sandhills Early Childhood Centre is a council‑operated 59‑place childcare centre located in the heart of Byron Bay. The centre offers natural, welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces filled with trees, wildlife, garden beds, rockeries and grassed areas. Position Overview We are advertising for a Certificate III Educator (permanent part‑time, 4 days per week) and a Trainee Early Childhood Educator (traineeship that allows you to earn while you learn). The role will focus primarily on infants and toddlers during 2026, with prospects to work across all age groups within the centre. Compensation Hourly rate: $30.72–$35.59 (based on experience and qualifications) Additional worker retention payment: approximately $3 per hour Trainee rates apply until Certificate III is completed Responsibilities Work with a team of experienced educators to implement the daily programme in line with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework. Support children’s learning and development through play‑based activities. Maintain a safe, supportive and child‑centred environment. Engage in continuous professional development and team meetings. Assist with early childhood worker retention payment processes. Qualifications & Experience Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or full‑time enrolment in a recognised program). Positive attitude, commitment to early childhood education and a willingness to complete the Certificate III. Experience working with children in a long‑day care environment is desirable.
