The Role Technical Sales Engineer – engage with technical and project teams to drive profitable business in Australia’s Industrial Refrigeration and HVAC market. Key Responsibilities Prospect, identify, and develop new opportunities within the Australian IR & HP market, achieving designated sales targets. Maintain field intelligence on competitors and develop strategies to ensure the IR business unit excels. Own sales planning, strategy, and activity aligned with overall business objectives. Collaborate with technical and project teams to develop designs, costings, and proposals for sales opportunities. Use selection software to optimize major equipment selections during concept design. Liaise with key suppliers and subcontractors for equipment and systems pricing. Implement collaboratively developed short and long‑term sales plans and prepare strategies to reach nominated targets. Deliver assigned sales plan in terms of secured sales volume and gross margin. Manage all elements of Salesforce, legal review, and bid management during the sales process. Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to Johnson Controls Ethics and Safety Policies. Benefits Competitive remuneration package. Qualifications Industrial Refrigeration experience with products, design, and solution sales. Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field desirable. 3+ years of relevant sales experience. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and accountability. Strong negotiating skills, capable of achieving win‑win solutions. Motivated team player able to develop internal and external relationships. Influential at all organisational levels, building credibility quickly with senior managers and decision makers. Excellent networking skills. Business‑mindset, change‑oriented, and proactive. Consultative, customer‑solution oriented approach.
