The Position:

Experience Gold Coast (EGC) is seeking a Sales and Account Lead to join our Business Events team. This role focuses on generating new business leads and maintaining relationships to position the Gold Coast as a premier destination for conferences and incentive events.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement commercial strategies.

Identify and qualify business opportunities and target leads from corporate sectors, PCOs, associations, and BE travel trade.

Collaborate with city stakeholders to secure impactful events.

Follow up on leads, secure local support for bids, and participate in industry events.

Host site inspections, famils, and co-operative events.

Prepare proposals using SimpleView and InDesign.

Achieve yearly KPIs for leads secured and won.

Collaborate with key stakeholders and industry members.

Enhance EGCBE’s reputation and secure promotional opportunities.

About You

3+ years of sales experience in the tourism industry.

Specific Business Events experience will be highly regarded.

Strong knowledge of business events distribution systems.

Demonstrated experience in Association bidding both Domestically and Internationally.

Proven high-level sales, planning and organisational skills with formal qualifications in sales and/or negotiation skills required.

Previous demonstrated experience in driving new business across domestic and international markets combining, both account management and new business development.

Previous experience in producing corporate documents and associated messaging which effectively influence and produce intended outcomes.

Proven high-level organisational and planning experience in a medium to large size professional office environment and the ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple tasks to achieve set deadlines

Proficiency in CRM systems, SimpleView, and InDesign.

Willingness to travel and work weekends and nights as needed.
