About the roleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The Process Engineer will play a key role in optimizing our paper production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety are maintained at all times. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of our company and make a positive impact on our operations.
DutiesReporting to the Operations Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Conduct analysis of existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance process performance and productivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and quality assurance to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
Design experiments and trials to test new process improvements and evaluate their effectiveness.
Monitor key process parameters and performance indicators to ensure compliance with production targets and quality standards.
Develop and maintain process documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and processes.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in paper manufacturing technology to identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation.
What you will bring to the teamBachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Paper Science, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a paper manufacturing environment. (Wet end chemistry applications experience would be an advantage). ABB 800XA QCS / DCS proficiency would be advantageous. Strong knowledge of papermaking processes, equipment, and materials. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
