About your new role: Currently, Energy Queensland has multiple permanent opportunities for a Design Mapping Officer located in either Cairns, Gatton, Gladstone, Nambour, Raceview, Toowoomba or Townsville. As the successful candidate you will be involved in performing complex technical work using technical principles, practices, and techniques for implementing routine overhead and underground distribution design into the GIS. Additionally, you will be responsible for: Preparing and issuing design documentation. Undertake detailed design tasks while managing a schedule of work. Operating the GIS / drafting software to produce detailed design drawings in the Overhead and Underground EQL networks. Providing technical advice on assigned work activities. Demonstrating a personal commitment to health, safety, and environment within an inclusive workplace. The remuneration for your new role is from $108,859 – $127,253 plus 14.75% super for a 9-day fortnight if you have met the essential qualification. Why choose to work for us? Diversity and Inclusion where all employees can contribute towards multiple diversity and inclusion initiatives across our business About you: Working as the Design Mapping Officer you will bring experience to efficiently deliver safe and effective work plans, produce detailed design drawings, update system databases, and provide technical advice on assigned work activities associated with Energy Queensland's Electrical Network. Your experience includes: Demonstrated knowledge of the electrical network databases and current systems used in Energy Queensland including Smallworld, AUD, Ellipse, Connect. Knowledge of the electrical network and its representation on works plans and maps. Ability to interpret documents to describe the state and activities carried out to the electrical network from LV to 132 kV. Intermediate knowledge and application of MS Office Suite. Competent in the use of GIS / computer aided drafting systems and software. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. A Diploma level of studies in a relevant field such as Spatial Science/Services or Electrical Engineering (desirable or the ability to obtain). Certificate IV in ESI Power Systems Design (desirable). Electricity Supply Industry Experience (desirable but not essential).
