We’re recruiting a driven Leading Hand to support civil works on a significant landfill project in Toowoomba. You’ll assist with day‑to‑day site coordination, guide a self‑perform crew, and ensure safe delivery of earthworks, pipelaying and HDPE activities. This role will suit someone who enjoys leading from the front, stepping onto the tools when needed, and keeping onsite operations moving smoothly. Experience with geosynthetics, liners or landfill construction is highly regarded, but not essential. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily activities for civil crews across earthworks and pipelaying Assist with planning, reporting and safety checks on site Support HDPE welding, liner installation or geosynthetics works as required Operate plant when needed (excavator, Posi‑track, telehandler) Maintain quality, productivity and safe work practices at all times What You’ll Bring Strong civil background, ideally with earthworks and trenching Experience as a Leading Hand or senior operator leading teams Ability to supervise or carry out pipelaying tasks HDPE, landfill or geosynthetics experience preferred but not mandatory Willingness to operate machinery when required Salary & Benefits $50–$60 per hour + penalties 6:30am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday work Long‑term civil pipeline and great project exposure Opportunity to step up into higher site leadership roles Apply Now If you’re a hands‑on Leading Hand looking for consistent work and the chance to develop your skills with a respected civil contractor, we’d love to hear from you.
